orientation week!
Well I'm slowly getting acclimated to life as a graduate student one orientation at a time! Monday I had my graduate assistant (GA) orientation, I started working for my GA position at the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) yesterday, and today I had orientation with my graduate class and a dinner at the home of our department chair this evening! I am enjoying getting to know my class-- there are 16 of us total, 15 girls and my fellow Lincoln friend, Joey...oh, and 6 of them are already married! I've also gotten to know a lot of my professors and I'm really loving everything so far. Tomorrow morning I get to hand out brochures for CTE at an orientation for new faculty/staff members, and I got invited to a new faculty/staff convocation for Friday...I had no idea this week was going to be so eventful!

i would love...
mission accomplished!
My mama and I scoured a few antique stores in Fremont on Friday afternoon in search of a small table for my printer and a bookshelf for the plethora of textbooks and binders I have acquired over the years. We were quite successful and found both items! (I will post photos of once they make their way out to me here in Kearney.) In the meantime, please enjoy these lovely photos; I couldn't resist these bold colorful dishes and this beautiful orange depression glass!
what a weekend!

left lincoln...
I have officially left Lincoln and begun my life in Kearney as an eager graduate student. My loving parents helped me move into my new little humble abode (a one bedroom apartment) this past weekend. I have nearly everything settled in and I will be sure to post photos once I get my walls filled. I must say I truly do enjoy the small town feel and all of the pleasant people who have greeted me here in Kearney thus far. Please visit my blog again soon and follow me on my journey as I begin this new chapter in my life. There is sure to be numerous posts on food, friends, family and faith, as well as other musings on life.
